Each year the VIENNAFAIR and 'departure' the Viennese creative industries agency present a dynamic series of panel discussions within the Fair program. Once again, in 2010, the panels will bring together leading international thinkers and artists to speak about urgent and topical issues that are currently impacting upon art-and-culture: with an eye to new trends, new directions, and new futures.

BORROWED TIME
“Borrowed time“ will be a special exhibition, curated by Edek Bartz, on display at VIENNAFAIR from 5th to 9th May 2010, daily 12.00 am – 5.00 pm. The idea is to invite private and museum collectors to present their favourite videos. The purpose of the exhibition is not to build a unified framework, the result is rather aimed to be a very personal and subjective view of each collector.

Kontakt. Films and Videos from the Art Collection of Erste Group
This program, curated by Georg Schöllhammer gives a historic perspective on conceptual approaches of filmmakers and video-artists from the “Former East”. Dealing with the role of spectator, the place of identities and the relationship between art and activism situated in the interface of performance art/film/visual it combines these examples with works of a younger generation of filmmakers.
