In the basement of the museum Judenplatz you find the remains of a medieval synagogue, destroyed in 1421, together with a selection of excavated objects. Access to the archaeological excavations is via the new exhibition rooms on the ground floor, which has been designed by the Viennese architects Jarbonegg & Pálffy (www.jp-architects.at)
