Following the successful launch edition of the show in 2005, 106 well-respected and well-known galleries from home and abroad presented there artists and their works, from the 6th – 9th April 2006. In 2007 the VIENNAFAIR - The International Contemporary Art Fair - will be taking place in Vienna for the third time.
With a focus on young and new art and galleries, the VIENNAFAIR showcases the dynamic development of the international art scene, putting special emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe. The growing proportion of CEE galleries is proof of the success of the concept and the refreshing mixture of established and new galleries is greatly appreciated by the many visitors with immense spending power.
As a new show the VIENNAFAIR is continually developing and establishing itself as an ideal promotional platform for both CEE galleries and new, international galleries. ‘Der Standard’, a national daily in Austria, claimed the show was "on the way to becoming an institution".
In 2007, alongside the art show, there will also be a comprehensive programme of side events for collectors and visitors. Details will be available here soon!
